The Edit Inspection Details page allows you to modify the information stored for an existing inspection.

If you have the appropriate security rights, you can click any of the following links:

  • View Inspection – Clicking this link returns to the Inspection Details page allowing you to view the inspection general information, scores, associated work requests, and attached files.

  • Delete Inspection – Clicking this link deletes the inspection. The system will not allow you to delete an inspection that has work requests associated with it.

To edit an inspection:

  1. Access the Inspection module by clicking the Inspection Link.

  2. Locate the inspection using the Find Inspection tab.

For more information, see Find Inspection.

  3. Open the inspection in the Inspection Details page.

  4. Click the Edit Inspection link.

ClosedModify an Inspection

Modifying an inspection allows you to change the values associated with the inspection. Certain values, such as the inspection property, location, class and type cannot be modified.

  1. Modify any of the following Inspection Information fields.

    • In the Inspector field, select the name of the user who performed the inspection.

    • In the Inspection Date field, modify the date and time when the inspection took place.

    • In the Occupant field, modify the name of the person who occupies the room where the inspection took place.

    • In the Room/Area field, modify the name of the room or area where the inspection took place.

    • Click the Asset Select link to select the asset the inspection will be performed on.

  2. Modify any of the following inspection scoring fields.

    • Score – Select a score for the item from the specified range. A scale, indicating what each score value corresponds to, appears below the items. To clear a score, click the ellipsis (…) after the last score value.

    • Condition – Select the condition of the item.

    • Reading – Enter a value if there is an equipment reading associated with this item, for example, a temperature reading. Some inspections do not include this field.

    • Weight – Examine the weight (importance) of the specified item. This helps determine how the overall score is calculated. If the reading is included, the weight value does not appear.

    • Comments – Enter any comments you may have about the item.

    • General Comments – Enter any overall comments you have about the inspection.

You must score at least one item to create the inspection; you do not have to score all items. The overall score for the inspection is calculated based on the weighted average of the items scored.

  3. Click UPDATE.

ClosedDelete an Inspection

Inspections can be deleted if they are no longer needed or were created in error. You cannot delete an inspection if a work request has been associated with it or if a file attachment has been uploaded.

To delete an inspection:

  1. Locate the inspection you want to delete using the Find Inspection page.
  2. Open the inspection in the Inspection Details page.

ClosedFile Attachments

The File attachments pane allows you to attach external files to an inspection. To attach a file:

  1. Click the Browse button to locate a file to attach.

A dialog box opens allows you to locate the file you want to attach. You can attach a file from your local hard disk or any networked drive you can access. Files should be no larger than 20MB; the larger the file, the longer it takes to access.

  2. Click UPLOAD FILE.

Each uploaded file appears in the bottom of the pane as a link. If you click a file name, the file opens if you have the appropriate application or plug-in to view it.

If you want to delete an attached file, click the DELETE button to the right of the file name.

ClosedOther Options

The Other Options pane contains the following link:

  • Outbound – Clicking this link opens a page that allows you to examine any outbound email notifications that have been generated for this inspection. This feature is not currently implemented and will be more fully defined in a future release.
